Azulfidine is a brand name for sulfasalazine, an anti-inflammatory medication used to treat inflammatory bowel disease and rheumatoid arthritis. It is a sulfa-containing prodrug composed of sulfapyridine linked to 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA).
