Different rounding rules may be employed in different contexts, such as rounding to the nearest value, flooring, or ceiling, and some software uses bankers rounding (round half to even). The exact rule depends on locale and the software or standard in use. Therefore avrundet does not by itself specify whether halves are rounded up, down, or to the nearest even number.
