While not an actual language, Avrenic functions as a construct for storytelling, gaming, and linguistic experimentation, and may appear in novels, role-playing campaigns, and conworlding resources.

In commonly developed worlds, Avrenic-speaking communities are described as inhabiting the central and southern regions of the fictional continent of Lethara, with diasporas in nearby realms. A standard or reference Avrenic is often taught as a school language, serving as a lingua franca in trade and administration, while regional dialects retain unique phonology and vocabulary.
