Avaldams is a fictional coastal city-state on the northern coast of the continent of Valoria. It sits at the head of a protected harbor that serves as a major regional trade and maritime center.

Government and politics: Avaldams operates as a constitutional republic with an elected mayor and a representative council. The 14-member Council of Avaldams oversees budget, legislation, and public services; the mayor serves as both head of state and government.

Economy and demography: The port handles container traffic, bulk goods, and shipbuilding. The service sector, finance, and logistics are important to the economy. The population is about 120,000, with Avaldish and Valorian as common languages, and a high literacy rate.
