Autotrunk

Autotrunk refers to a feature found in some vehicles that automatically opens or closes the vehicle's trunk lid. This functionality can be activated through various means, such as a button on the car key fob, a switch inside the cabin, or even through gesture control systems. The primary purpose of autotrunk is to provide convenience for the driver, especially when their hands are full.

There are typically two modes of operation for autotrunk systems: fully automatic and semi-automatic. A fully automatic system will open the trunk lid completely upon activation, while a semi-automatic system may only unlatch the trunk, requiring the user to lift it manually. Some advanced systems also include a "hands-free" or "kick" feature, where the trunk can be opened by performing a specific kicking motion under the rear bumper, provided the key fob is within proximity.

The technology behind autotrunk usually involves electric motors, sensors, and electronic control units. These components work together to detect the user's command, safely operate the trunk mechanism, and prevent accidental closure. Safety features are often integrated to stop the trunk's movement if an obstruction is detected, protecting both people and property.
