Aushadhi

Aushadhi is a Sanskrit word that translates to "medicine" or "remedy" in English. It is a term widely used in ancient Indian texts and traditional healing systems, most notably Ayurveda. In Ayurvedic philosophy, aushadhi refers not only to medicinal substances but also encompasses the broader concept of therapeutic measures, including herbs, minerals, and even dietary and lifestyle adjustments aimed at restoring health and balance within the body.

The preparation and application of aushadhi in Ayurveda are highly individualized, taking into account the patient's specific constitution (dosha), the nature of the illness, and the season.
