Attackpunkter, often translated as attack points, is a game statistic used in many tactical role-playing and board or video games to quantify a unit’s offensive capability in combat. It represents a numeric value assigned to a character, unit, or card that signals how strongly it can threaten opponents in an engagement. The exact role of attackpunkter varies by system, but they are typically used to influence hit probability, damage, or both, depending on how the rules resolve combat.

Calculation and modifiers: In common variants, attackpunkter are derived from a base offensive attribute (such as strength or weapon proficiency) and augmented by factors like weapon quality, skill level, and temporary bonuses from buffs or spells. Penalties may apply for fatigue, encumbrance, or difficult conditions. The resulting attackpunkter value is then used in combat resolution, for example in opposed rolls against a defender’s defense or armor score, or as part of a threshold that determines a hit or the magnitude of damage in some systems.

Differences across systems: Some games separate attackpunkter from damage and use them only to determine whether an attack succeeds, while others equate attackpunkter with base damage.
