Atriaaliset

Atriaaliset is a Finnish term that generally refers to something related to the atria, which are the upper chambers of the heart. In a medical context, it often describes conditions or phenomena affecting these specific parts of the cardiac anatomy. For instance, atrial fibrillation, commonly known as "atriaalinen tiheälyöntisyys" in Finnish, is a condition characterized by irregular and often rapid heart rhythms originating in the atria. Atrial flutter is another related condition where the atria beat faster than normal, but in a more organized rhythm than fibrillation.

The atria play a crucial role in the heart's pumping function by receiving deoxygenated blood from the body (right atrium) and oxygenated blood from the lungs (left atrium) and then passing it to the ventricles.
