AstroSat
AstroSat is India's first dedicated multi-wavelength observatory satellite. Launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on September 28, 2015, its primary mission is to observe celestial objects across a wide range of ultraviolet and X-ray wavelengths. This unique capability allows astronomers to study cosmic phenomena in unprecedented detail.
The satellite carries four scientific instruments: the Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (UVIT), the Large Area X-ray Proportional
AstroSat’s orbit is a low Earth orbit, allowing for relatively stable observations. Its scientific objectives include
