It generally refers to the act of overthinking or fixating on the "aspects" of a concept, idea, or task to the point where it hinders progress or action. This can manifest as a deep dive into theoretical possibilities, potential future scenarios, or minute details, without a corresponding effort to actually implement or move forward.

The concept often implies a procrastination tactic disguised as thorough consideration. Someone might be "aspectwhatting" if they spend an excessive amount of time planning, researching, or dissecting every possible angle of something, rather than taking the initial steps required to begin.
