Asatruars

Asatruars are adherents to Asatru, a modern revival of ancient Germanic Paganism. The term "Asatru" itself translates to "truth of the Æsir," referring to the principal pantheon of Norse gods, including Odin, Thor, and Freyja. Asatruars practice a religion that draws inspiration from the pre-Christian beliefs and practices of the Norse, Germanic, and Anglo-Saxon peoples.

The core of Asatru belief often centers on a reverence for the Norse gods, ancestral spirits, and the natural world. Rituals, known as "blóts," are common and typically involve offerings of food, drink, or symbolic items to the gods and other entities. These gatherings often take place outdoors or in dedicated spaces and are accompanied by blessings, chanting, and feasting.

While there is no single, centralized authority or dogma in Asatru, common practices include the veneration of ancestors, the belief in concepts like fate (wyrd) and honor, and an emphasis on personal responsibility. Many Asatruars also engage in activities such as rune divination, theological study, and the celebration of traditional Germanic festivals. The movement is diverse, with varying interpretations and practices among its followers.
