Arábicos refers to coffee beans that come from the Coffea arabica plant. This species is the most popular and widely cultivated type of coffee in the world, accounting for roughly 60% of global coffee production. Arabica coffee is known for its aromatic qualities, complex flavor profiles, and often sweet and fruity notes. It typically contains less caffeine than other coffee species like Robusta.

The Coffea arabica plant is native to the highlands of Ethiopia. It is a delicate plant that thrives in specific conditions, requiring consistent rainfall, mild temperatures, and high altitudes, typically between 600 and 2,000 meters above sea level. These specific growing requirements contribute to the generally higher price of Arabica beans compared to other coffee varieties.

The processing of Arabica beans can significantly impact the final taste. Common methods include washed, natural, and honey processing, each imparting distinct characteristics to the coffee. Arabica beans are often used for specialty coffee because of their nuanced flavors, which can range from floral and citrusy to chocolatey and nutty, depending on the origin, varietal, and processing method.
