Arviointipiste

Arviointipiste is a Finnish term used to describe a numeric score that expresses the outcome of an assessment or evaluation. The word combines arviointi (assessment) and piste (point or score). It is commonly employed in educational contexts to quantify student performance.

In many Finnish schools, a course’s evaluation is composed of several components, such as tests, written assignments, projects, and participation. The points earned from these components form the arviointipisteet for the course. The total points are then used to determine the final grade according to the school’s grading scale, which can vary by level and municipality.
