Artifactans

Artifactans are a fictional species of humanoid beings originating from the Mass Effect universe, created by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. First introduced in the 2007 video game Mass Effect, they are an ancient, highly advanced race known for their mastery of technology and their role as the creators of the Reapers, a cycle of mechanical gods that periodically wipe out civilizations to "reset" the galaxy.

The Artifactans are described as a collective intelligence, with their bodies composed of organic and synthetic materials, allowing them to interface directly with machinery and technology. They possess a hive-mind-like structure, where individual Artifactans communicate telepathically and share knowledge seamlessly. Their society is built around the preservation and study of artifacts—advanced technology and knowledge—hence their name.
