Arlington
Arlington commonly refers to Arlington County, Virginia, in the United States, a densely populated urban county in the Northern Virginia portion of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Located across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., it is bordered by Fairfax County to the west and the independent city of Alexandria to the south. The county was created in 1789 as Alexandria County and renamed Arlington County in 1920. It has a population around 230,000–240,000 residents and a high density for a county in the United States.
