Arinaran

Arinaran is a sovereign state with a constitutional parliamentary republic, located on the coast of the fictional continent of Valoria along the Gulf of Neris. It covers about 42,000 km2 and has a population of roughly 3.2 million. The capital is Lethryn.

Geography and climate: Coastal plains, river deltas, and hills define the landscape. The Arin River flows to the sea near Lethryn, creating estuaries that support fisheries. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters and warm summers.

History: Inhabitants formed tribal communities that later united into a confederation. The modern state emerged in the 19th century, achieving independence after a transition in 1848 and adopting a constitutional framework in the late 20th century. Since then, Arinaran has pursued integration and reform.

Politics: The president is head of state and the prime minister is head of government. The unicameral Assembly has 90 seats, elected every four years in proportional contests. The judiciary is independent, and local municipalities hold powers.

Economy: Services dominate, with shipping, port services, fishing, and tourism as major sectors. Agriculture produces citrus, olives, and grapes. The country pursues diversification in energy and industry, with wind and hydro contributing to supply. GDP per capita is about $18,500.

Demographics and culture: The population is predominantly Arinari, with coastal and migrant communities as minorities. The official language is Arinari; minority languages include Syllan and Marak. Cultural life centers on maritime festivals, music, crafts, and cuisine.

Infrastructure and education: Lethryn hosts the airport and seaport. The country has a developed road and rail network. Education is universal, with primary and secondary schooling and higher education in Lethryn and Nyr.

Environment and outlook: Arinaran faces coastal erosion and climate-change impacts but pursues renewable energy and conservation. It participates in regional environmental accords and aims to balance growth with ecological stewardship.
