Aranthos is a fictional planet within the Andromeda Galaxy, known for its unique geological formations and diverse, albeit scarce, native life. Orbiting a binary star system, Aranthos experiences extreme temperature fluctuations and prolonged periods of twilight. Its surface is characterized by vast, crystalline deserts that refract the light of its twin suns, creating an ethereal glow. Towering, naturally occurring spires of obsidian-like rock pierce the thin atmosphere, sculpted by millennia of solar winds.

The planet’s most notable feature is its subterranean network of geothermally heated caverns. These caverns are home to the majority of Aranthos’s known lifeforms, which have adapted to the low-light and mineral-rich environment. These organisms, often bioluminescent, subsist on chemosynthesis and the sparse nutrients found in underground water sources. Aranthos has no complex sentient civilizations recorded, though archaeological evidence suggests the presence of a long-extinct, primitive species.
