Antispoofingteknikker refer to a range of methods and technologies designed to prevent unauthorized access or malicious activities by verifying the authenticity of an entity attempting to connect to a system or network. Spoofing, in this context, involves disguising a communication from an unknown source as being from a known, trusted source. This can take many forms, including IP spoofing, email spoofing, caller ID spoofing, and DNS spoofing.

One common antispoofing technique involves IP address verification. This can be implemented through firewalls or network intrusion detection systems that analyze incoming traffic for inconsistencies or known spoofing patterns. Techniques like ingress filtering, where routers drop packets with source IP addresses that do not belong to the network segment from which they originate, are crucial.

In the realm of email, antispoofing relies on protocols like Sender Policy Framework (SPF), DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM), and Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC). SPF allows domain owners to specify which mail servers are authorized to send emails on their behalf. DKIM adds a digital signature to outgoing emails, which can be verified by the receiving server to ensure the email hasn't been tampered with and originates from the claimed domain. DMARC builds upon SPF and DKIM, providing a policy mechanism for recipients to determine how to handle emails that fail authentication.

For voice communications, antispoofing measures include technologies that allow service providers to verify or display the true origin of a call, such as STIR/SHAKEN in North America. These systems cryptographically sign call origin information, enabling downstream carriers to validate it.

DNS spoofing is countered by using DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions), which adds security layers to DNS queries and responses, ensuring that the data received is authentic and has not been altered in transit.
