Antiparazitë
Antiparazitë refers to agents used to combat parasitic infections. Parasites are organisms that live on or in another organism (the host) and derive nourishment from it. These can include protozoa, helminths (worms), and ectoparasites like lice and mites. Antiparazitë drugs are broadly categorized based on the type of parasite they target. Antiprotozoal medications are used against single-celled organisms like Plasmodium falciparum, the cause of malaria, or Giardia lamblia, which causes giardiasis. Anthelmintics are designed to treat infections caused by parasitic worms, such as tapeworms, roundworms, and flukes. Ectoparasiticides are applied topically to kill external parasites.
The development of antiparasitic drugs has been crucial in public health, particularly in regions where parasitic
