Antikollisionljus

Antikollisionljus, or anti-collision lights, are aviation lighting systems designed to increase an aircraft’s conspicuity and reduce the risk of mid-air collisions. They operate in addition to standard navigation and landing lights and are intended to be visible in a range of conditions, including daylight and poor visibility.

The most common ACL configuration includes two elements: white anti-collision strobes and red anti-collision beacons. White strobes are high-intensity lights typically mounted on the wingtips and sometimes on the tail; they flash to create a conspicuous strobe effect. The red beacon is usually located on the top of the fuselage, with a bottom beacon on some aircraft, and it emits a red signal to indicate that the aircraft’s electrical systems are powered, either continually or in a flashing pattern.

Regulatory framework and usage: ACL installation and operation are governed by international standards and national authorities. Civil aircraft are generally required to have anti-collision lights and to use them during movement on the ground, during takeoff, in flight, and during approach and landing, with specifics varying by country and aircraft type. The overarching goal is to maintain visibility to other air traffic across different phases of flight.

Technology and trends: Modern ACL systems increasingly use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for higher visibility and lower power consumption. Some aircraft incorporate infrared anti-collision lighting for use with night vision equipment. ACL components are maintained as part of routine airworthiness checks, and regulatory requirements specify factors such as light intensity, flash rate, and placement.
