Anteosaurus
Anteosaurus is a genus of extinct therapsid from the Middle Permian of what is now South Africa. It is classified within the family Anteosauridae, a group of large carnivorous dinocephalian therapsids, and is considered one of the top predators of its ecosystem. The best-known species is Anteosaurus magnificus, among the largest predatory therapsids described from the Karoo Basin.
