Anortositt

Anortositt is a term used in some speculative or pedagogical discussions to denote a hypothetical calcium aluminum silicate related to the plagioclase-feldspar system. It is not recognized as a valid mineral species by major nomenclature bodies, and no authenticated specimen or published description meets the standards for formal mineral naming. As such, discussions of anortositt are typically theoretical or educational in nature.

In speculative accounts, anortositt is described as a solid-solution member closely related to anorthite (CaAl2Si2O8), with possible substitutions by iron or magnesium and by sodium or potassium. Its exact chemical formula and crystal symmetry remain unsettled in the literature, and there is no consensus on a definitive structure. Some discussions place it within the feldspar group with triclinic symmetry, but these assignments are not based on verified mineralogical data.

Occurrence and properties attributed to anortositt are likewise hypothetical. If it were to exist as a mineral, it would be envisaged to form in felsic igneous or high-grade metamorphic environments rich in plagioclase. Reported physical properties are speculative and often described as intermediate between those of common feldspars, with no validated measurements available. As a result, no field identifications or chemical analyses have confirmed anortositt in mineral collections.
