Annostaso
Annostaso is a Finnish term used chiefly in pharmacology, toxicology, and medical labeling to denote a defined dosage level or dose threshold of a substance. It describes the amount of a drug or toxin that is recommended for a particular population or condition, and it may indicate the upper limit that should not be exceeded. The concept is closely related to, but distinct from, the act of dosing (annostus) and to dosing schedules (annostusväli). In practice, annostaso is given as a unit such as milligrams per kilogram of body weight (mg/kg), a fixed milligram dose for adults, or a maximum daily dose.
