Andmetag

Andmetag, also known as the Estonian Data Agency, is a public institution established in Estonia to oversee and manage the country’s national data infrastructure. Founded in 2019, it operates under the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure, consolidating responsibilities previously handled by the Estonian Land Board and the Tax and Customs Board. The agency’s primary role is to ensure the secure and efficient use of national data registers, including land, property, and tax information, while promoting digital transformation in public administration.

Andmetag administers several key databases, such as the Estonian Land Register, the Property Register, and the Tax Register, ensuring their accuracy, accessibility, and interoperability. It also plays a crucial role in maintaining the national address register and supporting digital services like e-residency and online government platforms. By centralizing data management, Andmetag aims to enhance transparency, reduce administrative burdens, and foster innovation through data-driven solutions.
