Analytikerna

Analytikerna (Swedish for The Analysts) is a Swedish think tank and policy research collective established in Stockholm in 1992 by economists, statisticians, and social scientists. The organization conducts independent, data-driven analysis of public policy with a focus on economics, labour markets, welfare state reform, education, and digital governance. Its work aims to inform policymakers, researchers, businesses, and the public.

Analytikerna operates through thematic research units and a publishing program. It produces policy briefs, working papers, and annual reports; maintains public data dashboards; and runs seminars and briefings. The organization engages in commissioned studies for government agencies, municipalities, foundations, and non-governmental organizations, while maintaining a transparency policy regarding funding and methodology. Governance is provided by a board of directors, with day-to-day operations led by a director of research.

Notable contributions include analyses of unemployment dynamics, taxation and public finance, and productivity and innovation in the Nordic economy. Its reports are regularly cited in parliamentary hearings, media debates, and academic research, though it faces critique from some who question potential funding influences or methodological choices.

Historically, Analytikerna grew from an informal collaboration among five researchers and expanded to a multidisciplinary team including data scientists and policy analysts, developing partnerships with universities and research institutes across Scandinavia.
