Amotiváció

Amotiváció is a term used in psychology to describe a state of lacking motivation. It is characterized by a diminished desire to engage in activities, a lack of interest, and a feeling of apathy or indifference. Individuals experiencing amotivation may struggle to initiate or sustain actions, even those that were previously enjoyable or considered important.

This state is distinct from simple laziness or procrastination, as it involves a more profound absence of internal drive. Amotivation can manifest in various aspects of life, affecting work, relationships, hobbies, and personal care. It can lead to a sense of helplessness and a belief that one's efforts are futile.

While amotivation can be a symptom of underlying psychological conditions such as depression, schizophrenia, or substance use disorders, it can also arise from other factors. Chronic stress, burnout, or a perceived lack of control over one's environment can contribute to its development. Additionally, certain personality traits or learned patterns of behavior may predispose individuals to amotivation.
