Amendamentin

Amendamentin is a brand name for a combination antibiotic medication containing amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxicillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic that works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, thereby killing bacteria. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Bacteria can produce enzymes called beta-lactamases, which can break down and inactivate antibiotics like amoxicillin. Clavulanic acid binds to these beta-lactamase enzymes, preventing them from destroying the amoxicillin. This allows amoxicillin to remain active and effectively treat infections caused by bacteria that would otherwise be resistant.

Amendamentin is prescribed to treat a variety of bacterial infections. These commonly include infections of the respiratory tract, such as sinusitis, otitis media (ear infections), and pneumonia, as well as urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and bone and joint infections.
