Ambiorix
Ambiorix was a chieftain of the Eburones, a Belgic tribe inhabiting the region between the Rhine and Meuse rivers in what is now northeastern Belgium and parts of the Netherlands and Germany. He is primarily known for his role in the Gallic Wars, a series of military campaigns waged by Julius Caesar against the Gallic tribes.
In 54 BCE, Ambiorix, along with his fellow chieftain Catuvolcus, led a rebellion against the Roman occupation.
