Alkalisability
Alkalisability is a term used in chemistry to describe the ability of a substance to react with an alkali, typically a strong base such as sodium hydroxide (NaOH) or potassium hydroxide (KOH). This property is often of interest in the context of soil chemistry, water treatment, and industrial processes. The alkalisability of a substance can be quantified by measuring the amount of acid required to neutralize the alkali present in the substance. This is usually expressed in terms of the acidity or alkalinity of the substance.
In soil science, alkalisability is an important factor in determining the suitability of soil for agriculture.
In water treatment, alkalisability is used to determine the amount of acid required to neutralize the alkalinity
In industrial processes, the alkalisability of a substance can be used to determine the amount of acid
