Alinda
Alinda was an ancient Greek city located in Caria, a region in southwestern Anatolia. Its original name was Kirannda, and it was later known as Alinda. The city held a significant position, particularly during the Hellenistic period, and was often a favored residence of queens. Ada of Caria, a Carian princess who supported Alexander the Great, made Alinda her capital after being restored to her throne. She established a strong relationship with Alexander, who in turn supported her claim.
The city boasted impressive fortifications, including a citadel built on a rocky outcrop that offered strategic
