Alfabetizada

Alfabetizada is the feminine form of alfabetizado, an adjective and noun in Portuguese describing a person who can read and write. A person who is alfabetizada has completed basic literacy skills in a language, typically Portuguese; the masculine form is alfabetizado. The noun alfabetização refers to the process of acquiring literacy, as well as to educational programs aimed at teaching reading and writing, especially for children and adults who did not complete basic schooling.
