Al-Farazdaq is the nom de plume of Diya' al-Din Muhammad, an Arab poet who lived from approximately 640 to 728 CE. He is considered one of the most prominent poets of the Umayyad Caliphate. Born into the Banu Tamim tribe, Al-Farazdaq was known for his sharp wit, satirical verse, and his ability to capture the spirit of his time. His real name was Abu Firas Malak ibn Yarbu.
