AlFajr
Al-Fajr, literally meaning "the dawn" in Arabic, refers primarily to the Fajr prayer in Islam. The Fajr prayer is the first of the five daily prayers and is performed before sunrise. In most Islamic traditions, it consists of two units (rak’ahs) and is observed after the pre-dawn light appears but before the sun rises. The time for Fajr begins at true dawn and ends at sunrise. Some traditions also note a pre-dawn light known as the false dawn, which is not used to determine the start of the prayer in those schools.
