Aktiivsetel
Aktiivsetel is an electronic payment system developed in Estonia, designed to facilitate secure and convenient financial transactions. Introduced in 2004, it was one of the first digital payment solutions to gain widespread adoption in the country, enabling users to make purchases, pay bills, and transfer money online without the need for traditional bank cards or cash. The system operates through a mobile application or a web interface, allowing users to link their bank accounts and make payments using a virtual setel (Estonian for "settlement unit"), which functions similarly to a digital currency.
