Ajustions

Ajustions is a term used in some theoretical discussions to denote discrete, context-sensitive changes applied to a system's parameters, structure, or rules in order to restore or improve alignment with a target state after perturbation, drift, or error. Rather than wholesale redesign, ajustions are small, targeted modifications that aim to preserve learned information while correcting misalignment.

The term is a neologism formed from the verb adjust and the -ion suffix; it is sometimes spelled ajustion or ajustions in early writings. It has no single, formal definition across disciplines and is mainly encountered in speculative or niche technical literature rather than standard nomenclature.

In practice, ajustions are envisioned as lightweight interventions. In control theory and adaptive systems, an ajustion might be an adjustment to a gain parameter, a minor reconfiguration of a model’s structure, or a calibration update triggered by a drift signal or anomaly. In machine learning, ajustions can refer to targeted updates that offset distribution shift without full retraining; in robotics, adjusting joint offsets or sensor calibrations after a fault.
