Ajoasento

Ajoasento is the position in which a driver sits while operating a motor vehicle. It describes how the body relates to the seat, pedals, steering wheel and headrest, and is a key factor in comfort, control and safety during driving.

Core elements include seating distance to pedals, seat height and tilt, backrest angle and lumbar support, reach to the steering wheel, head position and headrest alignment, and mirror placement. The driver should be able to depress the pedals fully with a slight knee bend, while the thighs remain supported; the arms should be comfortably bent, with hands near the wheel at about the 9 and 3 o'clock positions. The headrest should support the head without forcing the neck forward, and the spine should have good contact with the backrest.

Position the steering wheel so your shoulders are relaxed and your elbows are slightly bent; maintain a distance of roughly 25 cm (about 10 inches) from the chest to the wheel for safe airbag deployment. Align mirrors and fasten the seat belt properly.
