Agoreuo

Agoreuo is a term derived from the ancient Greek verb ἀγορεύω (agoreúō), which means "to speak in the assembly" or "to harangue." It refers to the act of publicly speaking or addressing a gathering, particularly in a formal setting such as a political assembly or a public forum. The concept is closely linked to the agora, the central public space in ancient Greek city-states where citizens would convene for political, social, and economic discussions.

To agoreuo was therefore a fundamental aspect of civic life in ancient Greece. It encompassed not only the act of speaking itself but also the preparation, rhetorical skill, and persuasive intent behind the address. Orators who agoreuo were expected to be knowledgeable, articulate, and capable of influencing public opinion.
