Aglian
Aglian is a dark-skinned grape variety primarily grown in the Campania and Basilicata regions of Southern Italy. It is most famously associated with the prestigious wines Aglianico del Vulture and Taurasi. Historically, it is believed to have ancient origins, possibly introduced by the Greeks. The vine is known for its late ripening and produces wines that are deeply colored, full-bodied, and possess high levels of tannins and acidity.
Wines made from Aglianico are typically characterized by notes of dark fruit such as blackberry and plum,
