Afstandsrelæer

Afstandsrelæer are a type of relay used for electrical control applications that require remote actuation. They consist of a primary circuit and a secondary circuit, where the input signal from the primary circuit triggers a mechanical or electromechanical linkage to switch the output of the secondary circuit.

The term "afstandsrelæ" is Dutch for "distance relay," which refers to the ability of the device to actuate a secondary circuit from a remote location. Afstandsrelæer are commonly used in industrial control systems, such as factory automation and process control, to activate relays, contactors, or other devices at a distance.

The key components of an afstandsrelæer include a primary relay, a signaling system, and a secondary relay. The primary relay receives the input signal and triggers the signaling system, which transmits the signal to the secondary relay located elsewhere in the system. The secondary relay then activates the output circuit, such as a motor starter or a valve control.

Afstandsrelæer offer several advantages, including improved flexibility and reduced wiring complexity.
