Adsorptsioonivõime refers to the capacity of a substance to adsorb other substances. Adsorption is a surface phenomenon where molecules of a gas, liquid, or dissolved solid (the adsorbate) adhere to the surface of a solid or liquid (the adsorbent). Adsorptsioonivõimet quantifies how much adsorbate a given amount of adsorbent can hold under specific conditions.
