Adhäsionshypothese, also known as the adhesion hypothesis, is a concept in psychology and cognitive science that suggests that our ability to form and maintain social bonds is influenced by our capacity for empathy and understanding the mental states of others. It proposes that the stronger an individual's ability to mentally "adhere" to another person's perspective, emotions, and intentions, the more likely they are to develop deep and lasting relationships. This adherence involves not just recognizing another's feelings but also experiencing a resonance with them, fostering a sense of connection and shared experience.
The hypothesis posits that this empathetic resonance plays a crucial role in prosocial behaviors, such as cooperation,
