Adatközpont-replikáció refers to the process of copying and maintaining data and applications across multiple data centers. This is a critical strategy for ensuring business continuity, disaster recovery, and high availability. When a primary data center experiences an outage due to hardware failure, natural disaster, or human error, replicated data and services in a secondary data center can be activated to minimize downtime and data loss.

There are several methods for data center replication, broadly categorized into synchronous and asynchronous replication. Synchronous replication ensures that data is written identically to both the primary and secondary locations before a transaction is confirmed. This provides the highest level of data consistency but can introduce latency, especially over longer distances. Asynchronous replication writes data to the primary location first and then copies it to the secondary location with a slight delay. This offers lower latency and is suitable for geographically dispersed data centers, though it carries a small risk of data loss in the event of a catastrophic failure at the primary site before the replication completes.

The implementation of data center replication involves careful planning regarding network bandwidth, storage capacity, and the specific replication technology used. This can include array-based replication, host-based replication, or application-based replication. The goal is to create a resilient IT infrastructure that can withstand disruptions and maintain operational continuity.
