Absorptiokuivaus

Absorptiokuivaus, also known as desiccant drying, is a process used to remove moisture from the air or other gases using a hygroscopic material, often referred to as a desiccant. These materials have a strong affinity for water molecules and can absorb them from the surrounding environment. Common desiccants include silica gel, activated alumina, and molecular sieves.

The absorptiokuivaus process typically involves passing the moist air or gas through a bed of desiccant material. As the gas comes into contact with the desiccant, water vapor is adsorbed onto the surface of the desiccant. This effectively lowers the humidity of the gas. Once the desiccant becomes saturated with moisture, it needs to be regenerated.
