Aaltopahviset

Aaltopahviset is a Finnish term referring to corrugated cardboard. It is a packaging material consisting of a fluted corrugated medium sandwiched between two linerboards. This layered structure gives corrugated cardboard its characteristic strength and cushioning properties, making it ideal for shipping and packaging. The corrugations, or flutes, act as shock absorbers, protecting the contents from damage during transit.

The manufacturing process of aaltopahviset involves several steps. Linerboard is fed into a corrugator machine, where it is passed through heated rollers to create the flutes. Adhesive is applied to the flutes, and a second linerboard is then pressed onto the fluted medium, creating the sandwich structure. The resulting sheet is cut to size.

Aaltopahviset is widely used across various industries due to its versatility, durability, and cost-effectiveness. It is commonly employed for boxes used in shipping, food packaging, electronics protection, and even for temporary structures or displays. Its lightweight nature also contributes to reduced shipping costs. Furthermore, corrugated cardboard is a sustainable material as it is largely made from recycled paper and is itself recyclable.
