ANSICodepage95 is a character encoding system used primarily in older Windows operating systems. It is a variation of the ASCII character set and is designed to represent a wider range of characters than standard ASCII, including accented letters, symbols, and punctuation marks commonly found in Western European languages. The "95" in its name refers to its origin within the Windows code page numbering system.

This codepage maps character codes from 0 to 255. While it expands upon the basic 128 characters of standard ASCII, it is not a universal standard and can lead to compatibility issues when exchanging text with systems using different encodings. Different versions of ANSICodepage95 exist, often differing slightly in the characters they support, particularly in the upper range of the character set. Its use has largely been superseded by more modern Unicode-based encodings like UTF-8, which offer a much broader and more consistent character representation.
