AFIPS

AFIPs is an acronym that may refer to multiple organizations; most commonly it denotes the Administración Federal de Ingresos Públicos (AFIP), the national tax and customs authority of Argentina. In practice, "AFIPs" is sometimes used to refer to the agency's offices, divisions, or personnel, or to other organizations that share the same acronym.

AFIP's remit includes the administration of national taxes, customs duties, and social security contributions; enforcement of tax compliance; revenue collection; and management of taxpayer registries. It oversees domestic taxation, international trade, and reporting requirements, and it operates digital programs such as electronic invoicing and online tax services.

The agency operates under the executive branch, typically within the national economy ministry, and is headed by an Administrator appointed by the president. It maintains regional delegations and specialized directorates, including those for large taxpayers, information technology, and audits. Through information systems and data analytics, AFIP seeks to improve compliance, efficiency, and service delivery.

In other contexts, AFIPs may be used to refer to similarly named organizations in other countries or to the plural of AFIP when discussing its branches or personnel. There is no single international entity universally known as "AFIPs" beyond these uses.
