Variable speed drives (VSDs) or variable frequency drives (VFDs) are commonly used to control the speed of AC motors by adjusting the frequency of the supplied power. This allows for efficient operation across a range of applications. AC motors are essential components in countless industries, including manufacturing, transportation, and energy generation.
