ABSU

ABSU, or the Abia State University, is a state-owned university located in Uturu, Abia State, Nigeria. It was established in 1981 by the then governor of Imo State, Sam Mbakwe, as a university of science and technology. Following the creation of Abia State in 1991, the university was renamed Abia State University.

ABSU offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various faculties, including Agriculture, Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Engineering, Law, Business Administration, Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social and Management Sciences. The university aims to provide qualitative education, foster research, and contribute to the socio-economic development of Abia State and Nigeria.

The campus is situated in a serene environment, conducive for learning and research. ABSU has grown over the years, attracting students from different parts of the country and beyond. It is recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
