A4WP

A4WP, also known as Alliance for Wireless Power, is a global industry alliance that aims to promote and standardize the wireless charging of electronic devices. The organization was formed in 2012 and is now known as the Wireless Power Consortium's certification program.

A4WP's focus is on developing and promoting wireless charging standards that are compatible across different devices and manufacturers. The consortium sets technical standards for magnetic resonance-based wireless charging systems, which enable devices to be charged without physical contact. A4WP works closely with manufacturers, semiconductor companies, and industry leaders to develop and test charging solutions.

A4WP's membership comprises a wide range of technology companies, including Samsung, Intel, and Qualcomm, as well as consumer electronics brands like Apple and Sony. The consortium's certification program ensures that products meeting its standards can be successfully charged across different platforms.

The A4WP standard operates at 5-6 MHz, allowing for efficient charging of devices in a wide range of applications. This standard is also capable of handling large amounts of charging energy, making it suitable for use in public spaces and commercial installations.

A4WP certification is granted after a product passes rigorous testing, ensuring reliable and efficient wireless charging performance. Certified products bear the Wireless Power Consortium logo, indicating their compliance with A4WP standards.
