95LX

The HP 95LX is a handheld personal computer released by Hewlett-Packard in 1991. It was designed as a personal organizer and a portable computing device, running on MS-DOS. The 95LX featured a monochrome LCD screen with a resolution of 640x200 pixels and a 16-line display. It was powered by an Intel 8088 processor running at 7.91 MHz, and came with either 512KB or 1MB of RAM.

A key feature of the 95LX was its built-in application suite, which included Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet software, a personal information manager (PIM) consisting of a calendar, to-do list, and phone book, as well as a text editor and a basic calculator. It also had a built-in serial port for data transfer and an infrared port for printing. The device was powered by two AA batteries and a backup lithium battery.

The 95LX was notable for its MS-DOS compatibility, allowing users to run a limited selection of DOS applications. However, its small screen size and limited processing power meant it was not suitable for demanding software. Its primary appeal was as a powerful and portable organizer with the added benefit of spreadsheet capabilities on the go. It was succeeded by the HP 100LX in 1993, which offered more features and improved performance.
